ASSESSMENT OF THE PERFORMANCE OF PNP IN CRIME PREVENTION AS VIEWED BY THE RESIDENTS IN CANDELARIA QUEZON

Abstract

This research sought to assess the performance of the PNP in crime prevention and the perception of the residents in Candelaria Quezon, The study specifically aimed to determine the effectiveness of methods and strategies implemented and utilized by PNPs to effectiveness of methods and strategies implemented and utilized by PNPs to effectively prevent crime in terms of drug-related crimes, violent crimes, and property crimes; the impact of the methods used; and problems encountered by the PNP as perceived by residents. The researchers utilized a descriptive quantitative method and purposive sampling technique for the research design and selection of participants. This study was participated in by 100 selected residents. The participants were purposively chosen according to these criteria; must be legitimate resident of Candelaria Quezon for at least 6 months and must be a legitimate resident of Candelaria Quezon for at least 6 months and must belong to the top 10 Barangays highest crime rate. The researcher utilized survey questionnaires to gather relevant data. After gathering the data, the researchers concluded according to the perception of the residents in the performance of PNP in crime prevention located in Candelaria Quezon for at least 6 months and must belong to the Top 10 Barangays highest crime rate. the researchers concluded according to the perception of the residents in the performance of PNP in crime prevention of the community, the performance of PNP towards crime prevention efforts was effective in handling and managing the crime status in Candelaria.
