iNetDocs: An Online Word Processor

Abstract

Word processor is a computer application used for word processing or creating documents. Word processors are very important to almost all people because they need it to their works, school, and many other things that need a paper works. iNetDocs, an online word processor was develop in order to assist office workers, business man, teachers, students and others need a paper works on online word processing, create, edit, upload, store and share documents online for free anytime and anywhere. The proponents are straightforward to create a friendly set of features to all users so they can easily use it even it is for the first time. Even though there are many online word processors, iNetDocs will be simple and free for users who access it. The features will be easy to know for the compatibility of the user because it is based on a typical word processor used, Microsoft Office Word. The proponents identify the user who needs this type of system. The proponents also analyze the users want for easy web design that is fitted to any user so the users can easily use it even for the first time. The proponents followed the object oriented analysis and design (OOAD) phases in developing the system. It was developed using web development tools such ASP.NET, CSS, MSSQL, and Visual Studio 2010 for the website interface then use Silverlight tools to create a word processor. The proponents used the quality characteristics and sub-characteristics of ISO9126 to evaluate an online word processor, the first three characteristics (Functionality, Reliability and Usability) and the first sub-characteristic of Efficiency (Time Behavior) are easily assessable, whereas the remaining characteristics are difficult to measure except by trained IT professionals. After the development the system underwent evaluation using questionnaire based on ISO9126. Based on the evaluation results, the system is found to be acceptable as an online word application.
