Awareness of Maritime Students on the Occupational Safety and Health Hazard Policy in the Workplace

This study aimed to determine the level of awareness of maritime students on the occupational safety and health hazards policy in the meantime workplace. The researchers were motivated to study the level of awareness of Maritime students in terms of occupational safety and health hazard policy. The researchers believed that the implementation of OSHA in the workplace is crucial to all extent. This study employed a descriptive quantitative research design. The main respondents of this study were all Maritime students enrolled at MSEUF during the academic year 2023-2024. They were chosen using complete enumeration sampling. A modified self-made questionnaire was used as the main research instrument of this study. This questionnaire determined the awareness of Maritime students in occupational safety and health hazards policy in the workplace. The data analysis plans that were used are the weighted average mean and the T-test for the significant relationship. it was found that the Maritime students have a high level of awareness towards occupational safety. Also, it was found out that the Maritime students have a high level of awareness towards occupational safety. Also, it was found out that the Maritime students have a high level of awareness towards health hazard policy. Thus, it is obvious the Do's and Don'ts considered in the Maritime workplace. Thus, the null hypothesis was accepted. Lastly, it is recommended to prepare Maritime students to respond effectively to emergencies at sea by conducting drills and simulations.
