Factors that Affect the Increasing Number of Children Conflict with the Law in Lucena City

Abstract
The main objective of this study is to examine the factors that affect the increasing number of juvenile deliquencies in Lucena City. Furthermore, the researchers utilized a descriptive quantitative research design to effectively understand the factors influencing the increasing numbers of juvenile delinquency in Lucena City. More so, with the use of purposive sampling a twenty (20) police officers associated with the Lucena City Philippine National Police, specifically designated to handle juvenile cases within the jurisdiction of the PNP Lucena and six (6) officers from the Reception and Action Center were used as respondents. The main finding was that the most common crimes committed by minors were related to drugs and alcohol. The link between young people turning to drugs or alcohol to cope with tough situations, especially in poorer communities, was highlighted. Addotopmally, the study recognized that dealing with young people with mental health issues and those under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a big challenge. Managing individuals in these conditions is difficult because their behavior changes, which could lead to accidents or even deaths. Special attention and careful planning were seen as crucial when dealing with young people with mental health issues to make sure everyone stays safe. In this regard, they were able to formulate a proposed action plan that will serve as a recommendation to raise awareness of the severity of the problem and the necessity of immediate action to eliminate the cases of juvenile delinquency.
