LEVEL OF FINANCIAL LITERACY: PERCEIVED IMPLICATION TO THE WORK PERFORMANCE OF THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE

Abstract

This study aimed to help the PNP personnel in understanding the concept of financial literacy as it helps them to become financially literate. The study used a descriptive-correlational survey design as it aims to gather information about the effects of financial problems to the work performance of the PNP personnel. as well as to identify the level of their financial literacy. Moreover, the researchers utilized survey questionnaires to the selected ninety (90) police officers from the PNP Station in the District 4 of Quezon Province namely, Guinayangan, Calauag, Lopez, and Gumaca. Using weighted arithmetic mean and Pearson r correlation, the study found that PNP personnel are in the mean age of w8, married, in preliminary position, and in service for almost 13 years. It was also found that stress sis the primary effect of financial problem and they are financially literate. Furthermore, it was revealed that financial literacy does not correlate with the work performance of the PNP personnel.
