Design and Development of Fish Dehydrator Machine for Drying Process

This research aims to examine Fish Dehydrator Machine in the enhancement of fish drying in Brgy. Bantigue, Pagbilao, Quezon province. Carrying out interviews, observation, as well as internet research, the study aims at grasping the hardships faced by the small-scale fisher folks when drying fishes. This system challenges the conventional practices that were previously unchallenged, due to their displayed labor intensiveness and observed inefficiency, to adopt the modern technology. Interviews reveal the fluctuation of drying seasons and worst weather conditions that inhibit the drying process which has been well complemented by internet research to understand the individual parts of the machine thus enhancing the Fish Dehydrator Machine design and quality. Full Pareto chart for work on raditional methods is shown below Traditional methods, labor intensity and lack of awareness of modern technologies stands as major cause of problems among which technology can solve 80%. Additional data involve completeing a Why - Why Analysis, the T-test Analysis, and Control Chart Analysis to outline the advantages of using fish dehydrators, compare drying time differences, and analyze the graphical trends of the fish catch in terms of time, respectively. The research results are invaluable for organizing the fishery activities and distribituion of resources, but highlighting the positive impact of technology to improve the small-scale fishermen's income and increasing the effectiveness of fish drying, which may contribute in realizing the systainable fishery management in the region.
