Design of a Prestressed Concrete Bridge between Barangay SM Ville Lita Phase-3 and Barangay Ilayang Nangka, Tayabas City
Area of Research
Abstract
The study focuses on the designing prepairing technical specification, cost estimate and program of works of the proposed prestressed and concrete bridge at Barangay SM Ville Lita Phase-3 and Barangay Ilayang Nangka Tayabas City, Quezon Province. The proposed bridge aimed to ensure the safely of the residents of both barangays and to serve as an alternative route to replace the existing hanging bridge, Specifically, it attempted to provide a structural design of a bridge that follows the requirements of the National Structural design of a bridge that follows the requirements of the National Structural Code of the Philippines, Vol. II, Department of Public Works and Highway Vol.5, Bridge Seismic Design Specifications, and the American Association of Highway and Transporation Officials. Furthermore, it also sought to provide the cost estimate of the material to be used in the project. The design computation that follows the requirements of the NSCP, BSDS, DPWH DGCS Vol. 5, and AASHTO was provided. A technical specification, complete material cost estimate that states the total cost of the proposal excluding the labor cost was provided. The of Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) and Critical Path Method (CPM) the estimated period of work to accomplish the project was 234 days. The researchers have recommend next researchers to gather hydraulic data to determine the flood level at the site in order to acquire the needed soil pressures.
