Design of Water Distribution System in Barangay Ibabang Alsam, Tayabas City

This research was conducted to design a water distribution system and a water treatment facility that will provde potable water supply in Barangay Ibabang Alsam, Tayabas City. The said barangay has a total population of 825. The researcher conducted a survey and interviews, which resulted in the identification of community problems, including non-potable source of drinking water and the need for a water distribution system. Fetching water from springs are their way to store water for daily consumption. Three springs with a total discharge of 2.3229 lit/sec demonstrate that they can be used as the source of this study's water distribution by using 1hp pump to lift water to a tank. This study has included technical design of the monolithic water tanks and pipelines according tank and the renforced concrete tank having their volume of 168.2 m3 and 135.2 m3.,respectively. The discharge of each pipeline was determined, the water was distributed through gravity from the tank to each pipeline of sitio using appropriate size of pipes. The total estimated cost of this project is Php. 6.155,302.42.
