Assessing the Awareness: Raising Impact of Brigada Hero Community Extension Service Program of MSEUF-CIHTM to its Beneficiary

Abstract

Community extension services are vital at institutional levels, providing numerous benefits to communities. Evaluating the impact of such programs is essential to ensure their effectiveness. This study assessed the Brigada Hero Community Extension Service Program by MSEUF- CIHTM, specifically its impact on beneficiaries, including teachers, parents, and non-teaching personnel of Salinas Elementary School. The program, launched in 2020, addressed educational challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on Salinas Elementary School in Lucena City. It provided essential school supplies and later expanded to include educational resources and workshops to support both remote and face-to-face learning. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, using structured survey questionnaires to collect data from 165 respondents. The findings of the study showed that most respondents were parents, with a higher number of females. The awareness and understanding of the program increased over three years, with the highest agreement in the third year, with a focus on Technical Livelihood Education (TLE) workshops and donations. Key findings indicated that the Brigada Hero program was beneficial to the community, evidenced by high levels of aggreement on its continued implementation, community benefits, prolonged utilization, and overall satisfaction. The program promoted community empowerment and social cohesion, strengthening community ties and encouraging collective action. Furthermore, it is revealed thatthe Brigada Hero Community Extension Service Program significantly impacts the community, improving education quality, fostering long-term development, and addressing specific needs. Additionality, the program successfully enhanced community relations and provided high levels of social support; it suggested effective community extension services.
