Abstract

This study aims to determine the Impact of Work Placement on the employability of graduates in Cruise Management of selected employers in the different cruise companies in the cruise industry who are involved in hiring to understand their perspectives on the value work placement in preparing graduates for successful careers in Cruise Management. It also analyzes the experience and perspective of the employers. This research is primarily a descriptive research design. This type of research design provided the researchers with adequate information about the perspectives of the participants regarding the impact of work placement on the employability outcomes of a graduates in cruise management. This approach allowed researchers to identify any common misconceptions about working in the cruise industry and the transferability of skills gained on cruise ships to other industries. Using descriptive research design in this study, an in-depth perspective was attained. The research used a research questionnaire and interviews online and in person. This study used a descriptive research design, a qualitative approach, purposive sampling, and a self-structured questionnaire to gather data. The study was composed of 4 participants. In light of the results, the study recommends that universities should make great efforts to ensure that they are equipping their graduates with employability skills as identified in the industry.
