Level of Readiness of Filipino Seafarers during the Emergency Evacuation in Domestic Passenger Vessel
Area of Research
Abstract
The preventive planning of emergency evacuation protocols in public maritime transport
systems is crucial for ensuring the safety of both passengers and crew. Considering the growing
emphasis on marine transportation system safety, real-time decision support is still required for
evacuation planning in a wide range of circumstances. The necessity for safety precautions also
rises as a result of the growing demand for maritime services, particularly passenger ship transit.
It is crucial to maintain safety and have an effective evacuation plan in effect, especially for this
kind of shipment, in case of unanticipated circumstances. In this study, the readiness of seafarers
and other relevant parties during the evacuation operation was the subject of discussion. Several
variables, including skills, familiarity, and behavior, are looked into in light of the responses from the different poll participants. Generally, the respondents have a high level of readiness for emergency evacuation basedo n the survey conducted/ They mostly strongly agree with the variables of this study. As a result, this study provided information about the level of readiness of seafarers domestically. This research adds to the relevant existing studies such as the level of preparedness and awareness of every ship in an emergency evacuation. Also, we discussed in this study the recommendation based on the researcher's analysis of the data gathered.
