SCHOOL HEADS’ DIGITAL LEADERSHIP AND ITS IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF LUCENA CITY DIVISION

Abstract

In this digital era, the importance of digital leadership from school heads and teachers' digital competency has grown. Data from the school heads and teachers of the public schools in Lucena City Division, Province of Quezon was gathered for this descriptive research study which focused on the extent to which schools heads and teachers practiced their leadership skills in the digitalization of education in their day-to-day work activities. A total of 52 public school heads and 249 teachers in Lucena City Division responded to the researcher-made instruments. Based on their responses, there was a high degree of digital leadership exhibited by school heads in relation to the International Society for Technology Education (ISTE) Standards. Additionally, the usage of technology by teachers was monitored and showed a strong correlation with the digital leadership of the school heads. A strategic training plan was proposed to improve leadership competencies and technology integration by school heads and teachers that may be able to solve barriers and difficulties and sustainable successful digital school leadership and technology integration in education. The findings could provide the framework for incorporating the idea and nature of digital citizenship into leadership and management practices in educational institutions. the Department may include this training in the School Head's Development Program as one of the foundational courses of leadership for the school heads and teachers.
