THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY IN IMPROVING TEACHER COLLABORATION AND INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a professional learning community in improving teacher collaboration and instructional practices of the teachers in Burdeos District, Division of Quezon for the School Year 2023-2024. The respondents of the study were the selected thirty (35) teachers and five (5) master teachers of Burdeous District. Qualitative methods of research was used in this study to assess the effectiveness of the professional learning community in improving teachers collaboration and instructional practices. Survey questionnaire was the main data gathering instrument in this study. Frequency/ Percentage Distribution, weighted average mean, Anova and multiple regression analysis (via SEM) were used as statistical treatment. The findings of the study revealed that majority of the teacher respondents are in teacher II and teacher III position and that most of them undertake masters' studies and have an advance learning intaking international and national trainings. Burdeos District teachers professed themselves in elevating professional learning community, teachers' collaboration, and instructional practices. The study revealed that both professional learning community and teacher's collaboration have an impact in institutional practices in the aims of improving the quality of education underlining the call for the curriculum planners to establish a system of benchmarking to quantity the results. Teachers' collaboration influences instructional practice and thus providing support network, extensive forums and developing different programs to sustain and to improve teaching and learning process should be encouraged. The result of the study served as basis for proposed action plan and school activities to enhance professional learning community, teachers collaboration, and instructional practices.
