DALE DAEL: DIGITIZATION OF THE LUZONIAN USING FACEBOOK PAGE AS PERCEIVED BY COLLEGE STUDENTS OF MANUEL S. ENVERGA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION

Abstract
This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of online media, specifically the Facebook page as a medium for campus journalism of The Luzonian in Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Lucena City as determined by the selected MSEUF students. Specifically, it sought analyze based on these four (4) categories: (1) exposure, to determine the respondents' level of exposure to The Luzonian's Facebook Page; (2) effectiveness, to determine the respondents' perceptions of the Luzonian through Facebook in terms of readership, accessibility, and credibility; and (4) data analytics, an analysis of the Luzonian's Facebook page performance as a platform for campus journalism. The study used a descriptive research method that investigated through a quantitative method and used a set of survey questionnaires in Google Form in getting the information. Moreover, the researcher interpreted the data through descriptive analysis without manipulating the variables. A total of one hundred (100) students from the MSEUF were selected as respondents for this study. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics such as frequency, percentage, and weighted mean.
Results revealed that the majority of the respondents are very exposed to The Luzonian's Facebook page, a significant portion of the respondents have seen the content post multiple times on their Facebook newsfeed. The content, visual and layout, and accuracy of The Luzonian's Facebook page are perceived as very effective by the respondents. Digital platforms like Facebook can be an effective tool for relaying information to the public, justifying the publication's concept, design, and aesthetics, and spreading information accurately. The digitization of the Luzonian through Facebook has a strongly positive impact on its redearship, accessibility, and credibility with respondents strongly agreeing that it has improved these aspects of the publication. These findings suggest that the use of social media platforms like Facebook can be an effective tool for campus journalism to reach a wider audience and increase engagement.
