Community Extension Service of the Business Administration Department of MSEUF, Lucena City: Impact to Beneficiaries Quality of Life

Abstract
This study validated the efforts and spirit of volunteerism of the Men and Women
at the College of Business & Accountancy of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation
in Lucena City, as this study revealed their positive contributions to the betterment of
beneficiary’s quality of life. Community extension service (CES) is an integral part of the
institution’s trifocal thrusts, in which the Business Administration Department (CBA,
MSEUF) plays a vital role. A number of programs and activities have been undertaken
by the CBA-CES to selected community and groups, mainly composed of out-of-school
youth and stay-at-home heads of family in Lucena City. The study utilized the
descriptive-exploratory approach in the conduct of the investigation to assess the impact
of CES particularly to its program beneficiary’s economic empowerment and to their
quality of life in general; particularly with respect to their emotional well-being, material
well-being, physical well-being, personal development, self-determination, interpersonal
relations, social inclusion and human rights. Study revealed the effectiveness of the
CES program and identified opportunities and challenges which shall play as anchor in
the planning and delivery of future CES activities of the Business Administration Department.
