AN ASSESSMENT OF THE SKILLS ON THE PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURES OF SELECTED SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN OFFICIALS IN LUCENA CITY

Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to assess the skills and level of
awareness of Sangguniang Kabataan officials of Lucena City as well as the common
problem they encounter during the conduct of sanggunian meeting. This descriptive
quantitative research was accomplished by conducting an online survey administered
using Google Form among the one hundred (100) SK officials. The study revealed
that skills were highly evident among SK officials. Also, SK's potential and skills were
being fully maximized, a great predictor for a smooth transaction during meeting.
Importantly, SK officials have a high level of awareness with regards to the conduct of
parliamentary procedure. However, common problems among the SK officials were
identified in the study; some of the SK officials used inappropriate words towards its
co-member; and the conduct of meeting even though they lack of proper decorum
and there is an incomplete number of SK officials. Additionally, communication gap
between SK chairmen to SK officers were also existent.
