IMPACT OF THE MEDIA TRENDS CREATED BY MONEY HEIST AND SQUID GAME AMONG SELECTED COLLEGE STUDENTS

Abstract
This study seeks to explore the impact of the media trends in Money Heist and
Squid Game among selected students of MSEUF. Specifically, it will identify
respondents’ level of exposure to Netflix; their reasons for following the media trends in
Netflix; the perceived impacts of the media trends in terms of emotional and social
aspects. The study will be a descriptive quantitative research that will use a survey
questionnaire in the data gathering. The respondents will be the selected 100 students
of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation who are watching movies or series in
Netflix. The questionnaires will be sent via Messenger together with the informed
consent form. Statistical tools will be frequency, percentage and weighted mean.
Results revealed that majority of respondents spend 2 to 3 hours watching movies or
series which is very much exposed to spend watching on Netflix. Their reason for
watching was to follow trends and fads in the series and also great source of
entertainment which creates a family fun time. The respondents are strongly agree that
the media trends in the movies or series in terms of Social aspect was It serves as topic
for discussion among peers which improve their communication skills among others.
