EFFECTIVENESS OF HISTORICAL DOCUMENTARY FILMS IN IMPROVING STUDENT OUTCOMES AMONG SOCIAL SCIENCE STUDENTS OF MANUEL S. ENVERGA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of historial documentary films in improving students learning outcomes among Social Sciences students of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. It specifically sought to determine the respondents'level of exposure to historial documentary films, the respondents' perception on historical documentary films in terms of theme/content, technical value, entertainment value, the respondents' percepton on the effectiveness of historial documentary films in improving student outcomes and the issues relative to the use of documentary films to improve student oucomes, Through descriptive survey methods. the researcher used 100 selected Social Sciences students randomly from the research locale. The questionnaire was administered personally to hather data for the study, Student interest category and normalized gain analysis were used as statistical treatment. Based on the results of the study, respondents shower an overall positive response when it comes to the implementation or use of documentary films in regards to their student outcome. Overall only a small amount of social sciences students view documentary films to be ineffective when it comes to their students outcomes.
