Abstract

In the spectrum for ages of the youth, it was found out that many of the College students were observed active in civic engagement activities recently, brought by their particular chosen organization to join in. (Cress, & Donahue 2014). Consequently, this research aims to know the level of civic engagement of the selected College students in terms of Community service and Political Involvement, the level of political Awareness of college students based on the type of civic engagement they are participating in, and also if there is a significant relationship between civic engagement and the level of political Awareness of college students. This leads to the interest of the researcher to assess how civic engagement is relatively a contributing factor to the political awareness of the college students of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation in Lucena City, in the province of Quezon. The researcher used the quantitative method to explain and interpret the data through Weighted arithemetic mean (WAM) and Pearson r to be able to analyze the data gathered from the questionnaire answered by the selected MSEUF college students. Which resulted that there is a significant relationship between the two sub-factors namely: community service and political involvement, but community service is the civic engagement that has greater impact to their political awareness. The output of the study will be a policy recommendation to the Office of Student Affairs to set a monthly plan of activities for each month.
