Abstract

The study aimed to determine the function of LinkedIn as a job advertisement platform for graduates as perceived by Manuel S. Enverga University students. It specifically endeavored to determine the respondents' exposure to LinkedIn; their perceptions of LinkedIn as a job advertisement and platform in terms of employment sourcing, exposure, and relationship building; most advantageous LinkedIn features for their job search; and limitations of utilizing LinkedIn. Participants in the survey were graduates of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Inc., Lucena City who were selected using purposive sampling method. Using descriptive-quantitative method, a self-designed survey questionnaire was sent, completed, and printed online. Based on the results, respondents were well aware of LinkedIn’s employment marketing capabilities. Respondents were generally familiar with the use of LinkedIn to seek for employment in large corporations locally and internationally. They strongly agreed that this platform enabled respondents to readily match their skills with recruiters and employers on their website. LinkedIn users were able to obtain employment because LinkedIn recommends job openings to companies. They revealed personal information willingly to create LinkedIn accounts.
