Abstract

The 21st-century generations are more exposed to technology allowing these generations to have an easier access to knowledge. However, it is surprising that there is still a large number of people who lack financial interest and investment intentions even if they are exposed to technology. Filipinos want to invest in instruments like stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate insurance, and other investment vehicles but most Filipinos do not have enough knowledge on how to invest in these different types of investments. The researchers aimed to examine the intention toward investment among college students. Specifically, this study focused to identify which type of investment is most preferred, identify the reason for investment, and identify the level of intention towards the following investment. The researchers desire to raise awareness and add knowledge about investment and the different types of investment vehicles to the students. The study is only limited to selected business administration students from different higher education institutions in a Philippine City. The researchers utilized a descriptive type of research. The researchers assessed the investment intentions of 100 business administration students using a Google form survey as a type of questionnaire. Frequency count, percentage, and arithmetic mean would be utilized for the data analysis and analysis of variance for the significant difference. After gathering and analyzing the results, the study identified that there is no significant difference in the level of intention in different types of investment of the students according to their monthly investment. This implies that monthly investment doesn't affect students' intention towards a particular investment vehicle. After coming up with the results. It is recommended that schools should apply financial subjects in their early years in college that can help them in understanding the concept of investment as early as possible.
