ATTITUDES AND PRACTICES OF MSEUF 4TH-YEAR CRIMINOLOGY STUDENTS: AN EVALUATION OF THEIR ON-THE-JOB-TRAINING PROGRAM

Abstract

The study focused on the Attitude and Practices of MSEUF 4th Year Criminology Students, as an evaluation of their OJT. The purpose study answers are the impact of their attitude to their OJT performance, the common practices they applied when doing their OJT, and lastly, their perceived suggestions to improve the OJT experience of incoming interns. The research revealed that the impact of the respondents' attitude to their OJT performance is that by being adaptive, they had an excellent performance. Furthermore, by being a critical thinker, the tasks assigned them were done ahead of time which resulted in good grades and evaluation. The common practices applied by the respondents during their OJT are organizing their schedule properly, delegating tasks with the outputs that require teamwork and they also practiced kindness in the workplace. The suggestions of the respondents to improve the OJT experience of the incoming interns are for universities to make a briefing session for the students, to provide a handbook to the students about the FAQS, Rules and Regulations, and Tasks that will be assigned to the students, and lastly, the universities shall assess the experience of former interns on the companies they had their OJT. The research used the descriptive-quantitative as its research design and the respondents used a random sampling technique. Weighted Mean was utilized to analyze the data.
