PERCEPTION OF CRIMINOLOGY STUDENT TOWARDS ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUG MASS OPERATION DURING THE DUTERTE ADMINISTRATION

Abstract

Several policies, protocols, and massive operations have been established since the start of the Duterte Administration's anti-illegal drug campaign to eradicate the rising numbers of drug addiction cases. To combat drug misuse, drug use, and drug-related criminality, the War on Drugs has been ongoing. The researchers have seen this situation as an impediment to conducting the study. As a result, this paper focused on the examination of students’ perceptions concerning massive anti-illegal drug operations under the Duterte administration. The main purpose of the study is to determine the perception of criminology students towards anti-illegal drug mass operations during the Duterte Administration. It specifically sought to determine the effectiveness of anti-illegal drug mass operations as perceived by the respondents. The researcher conducted a self-made questionnaire composed of questions to answer the objectives of the study. The respondents of the study were composed of 100 Criminology students of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation in Lucena City. Based on the findings, the overall weighted mean of the effectiveness of Duterte’s War On Drugs is 4.26 which was rated as agree. This means that most of the participants view this action as effective as War on Drugs created a positive response and viewpoint to the students of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation.
