THE CHALLENGES OF ONLINE CLASSES IN THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF SELECTED CRIMINOLOGY STUDENTS

Abstract
The study aims to determine the factors affecting students' academic performance
regarding online classes during the pandemic period of COVID–19. Although the study is
quantitative, this study is being conducted during the epidemic period of COVID-19 to
check the effect of online teaching on students' performance. The researchers also
presented other potential alternative learning tools that teachers may utilize depending on
the needs of the learners since such platforms have their special features. The study
highlights the effects of online classes on students' academic learning at the university
level. Graduate students formed the population, and a simple random sampling technique
was used for data collection. The selected criminology students from the University of
Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation were the source of the data collected. The data
were analyzed using frequency and percentage score statistical techniques.
