A PROPOSED LOW-COST MIXED-USE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT: EXPANSION OF DON VICTOR VILLE
Abstract
Housing for low-income people is essential to allowing them to rebuild their lives and work
from home. It will enable consumers to own quality homes at a reasonable price. In addition, it
helped minimize the number of informal settlers in the city. Incorporating the concept of Filipino
neighborhoods within the dwelling units would contribute to constructing a comfortable and
positive environment. Implementing technology and innovations would save our natural
resources while enhancing the comfort of our communities. Address the challenges and issues
associated with the increasing number of households, people experiencing homelessness, and
the formation of new families due to natural population growth and migration. The homeless
urban poor are people whose homes were demolished or evicted and now live in dangerous
places like flood-prone areas (CLUP, 2015). This researcher will develop the expansion of Don
Victor Ville in the Phase 2 area. This development will encourage sustainable housing with a
sense of a Filipino neighborhood. It will surround a retail store to promote a walkable area with
social connectivity to interact with others. In addition, a sustainable home design contains
convenient access to public mobility and maximizes some areas for green spaces. It could
reduce the environmental impact of buildings and enhance their efficiency. This initiative
provides low-income families with cost-effective housing that offers more than shelter. Giving
them access to education, healthcare, employment, and public transportation may help them
improve their lives. This will ensure the long-term cost and viability of the project. It offers
convenient and walkable neighborhoods for inhabitants, eliminating the demand for private
automobiles, fostering social relationships, and offering a healthy and exciting natural
environment.
