A PROPOSED QUEZON TOURISM COMPLEX

Completed2023

Abstract

This thesis explores the question of how local architectural traditions affect tourism and the development of the park. The typology for exploring this problem is Perez Park and building a new Tourism Complex comprising adaptive reuse and new construction. We need to know that the Province of Quezon must keep traditions and history even as tourism increases and these traditions evolve as they define the original attraction to the place or space. This give-and-take relationship between Perez Park and tourism is key to knowing the relevancy of design in response to tourism. This is necessary for helping to define how architecture should progress or evolve in high-tourist areas. Also, the park could be developed, usable, and explored. Traditional and indigenous knowledge, along with scientific development, can be explored. The Tourism complex, which talks about tourism aspects of the context, creates a cultural hub point that gives a platform for the people of Lucena City and the essence of the vernacular for the tourists. Tourism Complex draws much attention from tourists; people interested in history and everything old is now universal. Archaeological excavations, historical ruins, old battlefields, past buildings, landscapes and narratives, and areas with traditional folklore have become favorite tourist destinations. Perez Park serves the community as a green space in the city for social and recreational purposes.
