EVOLUTION OF ARCHITECTURE IN THE PROVINCE OF QUEZON: A PRPOSED MULTI – LEVEL MUSEUM

Completed2022

Abstract

When people hear about the word architecture, among the things that first come to their minds are buildings, designs, art, and history, all of which are depicted in this study in the form of a multi-level museum. This study is primarily intended to develop an educational and a recreational facility mainly for students and researchers of architecture, and for the rest of the residents in the Province of Quezon. It is also aimed at delivering a more profound meaning of architecture and its evolution by showcasing how various structures or houses were built and what kind of materials were used within the province as influenced by colonization, modernization, and technology. It is conceptualized in such a way that each floor level in the facility was themed according to how Quezonian houses evolved from the historic bahay-kubo to today’s modern, sustainable houses. The floor levels themselves are the actual exhibits which shall feature the structural design as well as the materials used. This is in hopes of giving the actual first-hand experience of how it is like to be in the featured structure.
