A PROPOSED RELOCATION OF BUREAU OF JAIL MANAGEMENT AND PENOLOGY LUCENA CITY

Abstract
The study is an exploration of architectural design solutions for the Bureau of Jail
Management and Penology in Lucena City. It is intended to relocate the building and to
elevate the quality of life of the beneficiaries. The study focused on creating a
sustainable design, enhanced technology for the facilities, and a therapeutic approach
toward the beneficial effects of the users. The Proposed Relocation of Bureau of Jail
Management and Penology Lucena project is located in Mayao Silangan, Lucena
Diversion Talao - Talao Port Road. The Lucena City Bureau of Jail Management and
Penology (BJMP) prison is enforced to direct, supervise, and regulate the operation and
management of all district, city, and municipal jails nationwide with coordinated tasks of
maximum security and development of Persons deprived of liberty (BJMP, 2010). Its
architectural successive design is based on the concurrent analysis of major aspects of
research and design of the sustainable building. A sustainable and therapeutic approach
is statistically analyzed to address the design problem of increasing the building's
positive impact on the beneficiaries and the environment. The architecture of the building
facilities can allow to incorporate principles of the inmates to change themselves and get
back on track by utilizing the methodology of gathered data.
