Utilization of Interactive Simulation in Teaching Pattern and Algebra to Selected Grade 8 Students in Distance Learning

Abstract

This study shows the effectiveness and strategies utilized by teachers in teaching Patterns and Algebra to selected grade 8 students through an interactive simulation. This study also determines the impact of interactive simulation on selected grade 8 students’ learning ability toward Pattern and Algebra. Specifically, the purpose of this study is to answer the provided research questions. The research design used in this study is a descriptive research method and simple random sampling conducted in a selected public school in Sariaya, Quezon, and Lucena City. The subjects of the study were composed of 30 grade 8 teachers who teach Patterns and Algebra in online distance learning. The findings of the study revealed that utilizing interactive simulation as a strategy is effective to strengthen the teaching and learning process in teaching Patterns and Algebra in distance learning. The study concludes that certain disadvantages may affect students' learning abilities. As a result, this study recommends considering and implementing strategies to overcome the barriers to online learning adoption.
