LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF PRACTICING CADETS IN THE APPLICATION OF SAFE WORKING PRACTICES ONBOARD

Abstract
his study aimed to determine the level of knowledge of practicing cadets
towards safe working practices onboard. This specific study will be a great help
and relevant to all maritime students at Manuel S. Enverga University. This will
help the maritime students with the knowledge that needs to be attained and will
help them to be more knowledgeable about being a seafarer in the future. It aimed
to enhance the knowledge of practicing cadets but also all maritime students
starting with the basics to improve it so whatever situation may happen it can be a
great help. The researchers used a quantitative descriptive research design to
acquire the objectives of the said study. The questionnaire in this study is selfmade and consists of three parts. In addition, the data gathered from the
participants or the target were kept private to respect the Data Privacy Act. All the
data were examined by using the proper method and tool. With this study, the
researchers will know how should maritime students expect the knowledge needed
by a practicing cadet on safe work practices onboard and to act accordingly. The
proper knowledge and mindset are a big part of this study. The study benefits the
maritime students, about what they will expect and learn towards safe work
practices onboard. Therefore, this study is important because this will be used as
a guide and source of information for future seafarers
