Completed2023

Abstract

Knowledge of basic computer software applications nowadays is one of the factors to be hired and finding jobs. It is necessary to have proficiency skills, especially in this age of technology whereas global competition is very visual. Knowledge of hardware and software in basic computer enable 21st-century learners to be more globally competitive. The technological innovations of the 21st century are leading us towards changes in the dynamics of education and its delivery globally. The advancements in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have resulted in the availability of educational solutions that enable the ubiquitous delivery of content and novel opportunities for communication and collaboration when engaging with that content. The maritime domain has also adopted modern ICTs and developments in the learning sciences through the use of distance learning, simulator-based learning, elearning, and other initiatives. The researcher researched the proficiency skills of the maritime transportation students at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Inc. to determine the level of proficiency and to develop the best enhancement program. They asked (100) marine transports to be the participants in the research data gatherings. The researcher utilized a quantitative method of research to conduct data. They used the research instrument that was equipped to identify the level of proficiency skills of the respondents to gather the data. The results show that economic status is not a factor in proficiency skills in basic computer and software applied in maritime technology. The researcher ought to know the best practices that can be produced to help the respondents who are not proficient in terms of basic computer software applications.
