THE IMPACT OF FLEXIBLE LEARNING SYSTEM TO THE LABORATORY ACTIVITIES OF CRIMINOLOGY STUDENTS IN AN AUTONOMOUS UNIVERSITY IN CALABARZON
Area of Research
Abstract
This research sought to determine the impact of a flexible learning system
on the laboratory activities of criminology students in an autonomous university in
CALABARZON. In this study, the researchers used the descriptive method of
research because of its suitability to the nature of the study as it aims to obtain
relevant information to describe the situation of the study. The researchers
conducted a survey and collected data from a hundred respondents. The
respondents were composed of students taking up Bachelor of Science in
Criminology that are currently enrolled at Manuel S. Enverga University
Foundation and that are practicing online laboratory courses. The researchers
used the survey questionnaires as a research instrument to collect the information needed for the said study. The study reveals that the flexible learning
system makes the work of the students easier as it helps them to gather
information about the experiment as they are in touch with the internet. However,
it affects the student's capability to perform laboratory experiments as they don't
have an instructor. Lastly, respondents have enough budget in accessing a
flexible learning system that's why the students can pursue their studies even
though it is an online class. The researchers recommend expanding the time and
resources to produce a masterpiece of activity even if the equipment is the
replacement of real laboratory equipment.
