Abstract

The No Garage, No Car aims to prevent the growth of automobiles on sidewalks or the roadside by requiring a garage or parking space before the purchase of a vehicle in urban areas. The proposed regulation would compel automobile purchasers and owners to provide documentation proving they had a garage or other secure parking spot before having their registration requests approved. This study entitled "Senate Bill No. 1165 The No Garage No Car Act of 2016 as Perceived by Selected Vehicle Owner of Lucena City" aimed to determine the awareness of the residents in Lucena City on Senate Bill No. 1165. The study also aimed to determine the effects of Senate Bill No. 1165 on the traffic situation in Lucena City. It used descriptive data through surveys and self-made questionnaires for the residents of the community in Lucena City. The "No Garage, No Car Policy" is a proposed act wherein people cannot be able to purchase a car without their garage. Lucena City is classified as a highly urbanized city and sustains a population of 278,924 as of the 2020 census, divided into 33 barangays which means that the more the population the city has, the more the population of the car is. Respondents assessed the awareness and effectiveness of Senate Bill No 1165 in Lucena City differently when grouped according to age, gender, civil status, and type of vehicles used/owned. The proposed Senate Bill No. 1165 may be utilized after being utilized by the government.
