Completed2022

Abstract

Health awareness is important to address a person's behavior practice preventive measures and know the risks of certain lifestyle choices. COVID-19 is an infectious disease that is passed through person-to-person contact affecting the respiratory system, that is why knowing and practicing precautionary measures are essential to ensure well-being and safety. This study focused on the awareness and practices of preventive measures amidst COVID-19. It employed the descriptive-evaluative-correlational, descriptive research design wherein self-made survey questionnaires were used. There are a total of 106 respondents who were selected. Frequency and weighted mean, t-test, weighted arithmetic mean, standard deviation, chi-square, and Pearson r coefficient were used in the statistical analysis while thematic analysis was used. Results show that the level of awareness of the respondents and the preventative measure practices for COVID-19 has no significant difference. Female respondents have a significantly higher level of awareness in terms of personal protection and hygiene than male respondents. Female respondents have a significantly higher level of practice in terms of both personal protection and hygiene and environmental conditions. On the other hand, between the respondents' preventative measures and practices against COVID-19, there is a significant correlation. The higher the respondent's level of awareness of preventive measures, the higher his/her level of practice of prevention in terms of personal protection and hygiene, and environmental conditions.
