Completed2021

Abstract

This study was conducted to promote the idea of modernizing a particular mode of transportation (which is the jeepney) in University Site, Lucena City, aligned in taking a step on contributing to the mitigation of global warming in an eco-friendly way. Specifically, the study investigated the demographic profile of the respondents, the perceptions of drivers and the community in the adaptation of e-jeepney, the impact of the e-jeepney for jeepney drivers investing in e-jeepney, the level of preparedness of jeepney drivers of University Site in terms of the possible transition from traditional jeepney to e-jeepney, and the extent of the willingness of the drivers and community to adapt the usage of the e-powered vehicle. In conducting the study, the researchers utilized a descriptive-quantitative approach wherein the proponents provided a structured questionnaire. The instrument used was a survey questionnaire conducted through Google forms. The respondents of this study were jeepney drivers whose route is on University Village and the community residents at University Site. The study finding shows that the majority of the participants know the e-powered vehicle. The respondents are amenable to expand their knowledge and explore the enhanced technology and modernized jeepneys that may be adopted. However, the minority answer is unsure of investing in an e-jeepney. It is because ejeepney is pricy among people that do not have enough money or have a financial problem to own one. Researchers recommend the respondents for an in-depth understanding of e-jeepney and attend seminars that discuss global warming and the advantages of technological advancement, specifically e-powered jeepneys.
