Abstract

The study entitled Exploring Farm Tourism in Quezon Province as a Potential Tourist Destination in the Province will help other Farm Tourism here in Quezon, especially unrecognized ones. In addition, farm tourism teaches the public about authentic farming life. In this regard, the current study determined the current status of farm tourism in the province of Quezon as a potential tourist destination. Specifically, it investigated the demographic characteristics of farms in selected areas in Quezon Province, the facilities and amenities they offer, the impact of the farm tourism industry economically and environmentally, and the challenges encountered by the farm owners/administrators in running the business. Moreover, this study utilized a mixed method of quantitative and qualitative research such as interviews and surveyed questionnaires to understand the results. A set of online guide questions and face-to-face interviews were used to facilitate the study, conducted among specific employees, managers, owners, and tourism officers in a specific municipality in Quezon Province. The quantitative part was conducted through google form and survey handouts. The result shows that activities found in different farms are what tourists were looking for. First on the list is the feeding animals that most love to care for and see animals enjoying their accompany. It also shows that the farms maintain a safe and accessible environment for the guests and the community dimension. It also provides valuable ecosystem services not limited to bioremediation, water filtration, and nutrient cycling.
