RESILIENCY STRATEGIES OF SELECTED RESORTS AT CAGBALETE ISLAND AMIDST PANDEMIC

Completed2022

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the practices and strategies used by the selected resorts at Cagbalete Island in Mauban, Quezon. This focused on the assessment of strategies and effective plans since the pandemic started as well as the extent of participation and resiliency of the LGU Mauban amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The interview protocol was used by the researchers as a research instrument to gather data. Moreover, the participants of this study who were selected through purposive sampling were 4 managers, 4 employees, and 1 tourism staff of the selected resorts in Cagbalete Island. In the data analysis plan, the researcher used the repertory grid leading to a thematic analysis which involved reading through the data such as the transcript from an in-depth interview and identifying the patterns across the data. The researchers found out that resorts at Cagbalete Island have implemented new strategies and enhanced their practices in resorts that help them to operate amidst the pandemic. It shows that while they have created strategies on their own for the betterment of their establishment and to market their resort to the public again, the participation of the LGU by implementing safety protocols and guidelines has been a big help to the resort. However, LGU should consider and study the implementation of its smart pay system.
