Attributes and Qualities of Potential Rural Tourism in Selected Municipalities of Quezon Province: Basis for Strategic Planning for Rural Tourism Development

Abstract
The study aimed to assess the attributes and qualities of potential rural tourism
establishments. Specially, the objectives of this study were to identify the profile of respondents,
determine the attributes of rural tourism activities offered by the establishments, identify the
respondent’s perception on the qualities of the rural tourism establishments. The results will be
used as the basis for strategic planning of rural tourism development. This study applied a
descriptive research design, in a quantitative approach. The population was selected using
purposive sampling. The selected municipalities have very distinct characteristics and potential
tourist destinations. Researchers used a self-constructed questionnaire. It was distributed
through email and social media platforms. Results show that Quezon Province has the qualities
and attributes of rural tourism. Therefore, they are classified as rural tourism. Researchers recommend establishments may educate tourists to be disciplined when interacting with nature,
promote their heritage, and observe cultural practices.
