transitional adjustment in teaching. It also sought to know if there is significant
difference on these challenges when respondents are grouped by demographic

The study utilized the descriptive research method using a validated survey
questionnaire. Simple random sampling technique was used in the selection of the
respondents. A total of fifty-seven respondents consented participating in this study.
They are all Junior and Senior High School teachers handling and teaching Physical
Education subject and with at least three years of teaching experience. Data were
analyzed using frequency and percentage distribution, weighted arithmetic mean,
independent t-test, and ANOVA or the Analysis of Variance.
Results of the study revealed the perception rated by the respondents on the
effective approaches they used in adapting to the culture of the now normal in
teaching. It also revealed the different and major challenges they encountered in
transitional adjustment with regard to the following dimension of challenges by learners, by teachers, teaching-learning procedure, and health/safety protocols. The
findings also implied that the perceptions of the respondents on the challenges
encountered are similar regardless of sex. However, the length of teaching
experience somewhat influences the way respondents perceive the challenges
encountered with respect to lesson planning and instructional delivery. On the other
hand, the findings implied that grade level taught somehow influences the Physical
Education teachers in terms of the challenges encountered in the transitioning to the
culture of now normal in teaching Physical Education.
