Completed2023

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigatethe use of extended activities in teaching Araling Panlipunan in public secondary schools at Patnanungan District, Patnanungan, Quezon. The study compared the responses of 9 secondary school teachers teaching Araling Panlipunan in the district with 147 Grade 10 secondary school students to investigate if these two groups were interpreting the items on the inventory in the same manner. The study revealed that the utilization of the extended activities in Araling Panlipunan is much evident as perceived by teacher and student respondents. On the other hand, the study revealed that extended activities in Araling Panlipunan are very effective as perceived by teacher and student respondents. The t-test revealed a calculated p-value of 0.256, which is larger than the 0.05 level of significance, implying that the null hypothesis should be accepted. As a result, there is no statistically significant difference in the use of extended activities in AP as evaluated by both teachers and students’ responses. The correlation analysis, using Spearman Rho Rank Correlation technique, resulted in a computed coefficient of correlation equal to 0.537 which can be interpreted as a moderate-tostrong positive relationship. Furthermore, the relationship is found to be “significant” in as much as the computed p-value (p = 0.000) is less than the 0.05 level of significance, meriting the rejection of the null hypothesis.
