A Design of a Three-Storey Library Integrated Building Located in Ibabang Dupay Lucena City

Abstract
Libraries offer services levelling intellectual playing field. Its existence ensures that
knowledge and technology are available to everybody. The designed solar – eco - friendly
library integrated building contributes in reducing carbon footprint featuring rooftop garden,
rainwater harvester and integrated controlled temperature and lightings system. It covers a lot
area of 28,985 sq.m. at the heart of Ibabang Dupay Lucena City. This study included
architectural and structural design of the building as well as development of technical
drawings and plans including technical specifications, bill of materials, cost estimate and
program of works. This applied research recommends to construct the designed building in
four hundred fifty ( 450 ) days based on the developed PERT – CPM and was evaluated Gold
under the LEED rating system with a score of 70 points.
