The research is a descriptive type of study that aims to identify and to determine
the influence of teacher’s attitude in the classroom performance of maritime students.
This study focused on finding out the impact of the academic performance of 3rd year
Maritime students in the College of Maritime Education. It sought to know the level of
effectiveness, usefulness, and importance of finding out the influence of those teachers
in terms of their performance and the problems encountered by the teachers and
students in dealing with the Maritime Major Subjects.
We all know that the maritime industry is one of the fastest growing jobs
nowadays. It is also becoming a primary target of employees for being highly profitable
international activity. Seafarers are one of the bravest men in the world for taking such a
very risk job among others.
According to Carter (2009), sailing has been instrumental in the development of
civilization, affording humanity greater mobility than travel over land, whether for trade, transport, or warfare. The first boats are presumed to have been dugout canoes. So the
students must be well-informed, learned, and trained by their teachers and instructors.
The research analyzed the survey of students of learning impact and to their
academic performance in all terms and aspects. This study had an own realization and
discovery by the researchers that can be of great help for the future researches who are
going to study this same topic. The realization sought to find out the following: the
impact of teaching career courses using academic standards, the connection between
the students’ way on surveying of the students’ learning and their performance, and
most importantly how the teachers will improve their teaching techniques to have a
better evaluation coming from the maritime students.
Also, this study aimed to examine the most and used effective strategy in
teaching major subjects that can lead to a high academic performance throughout the
students in different brackets of major subjects. Also, this research ought to find out
how the teachers and instructors can change the perceptions of students in studying
their major subjects.
This study would help the future researchers in producing new research
regarding the study on how a student can evaluate their teacher and instructor
according to their teaching performance. This research is also to be published for the
public to help the future researchers, teachers, and future educators for additional
information purposes.
