HUMAN RESOURCE INFORMATION SYSTEM WITH DESCRIPTIVE ANALYTICS FOR THE HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT OF A PAWNSHOP

Abstract

The capstone project aimed to improve the existing system for the human resource department of a pawnshop by integrating additional functional requirements to the current HRIS such as the system having data analytics of employees; detailed personal information of employees; automatic daily time recording computation; biometrics for attendance; streamline of application processing of leave approvals; employment status/record; credit score for leaves and incentives and customer feedback to employee performances. The system will be used to analyze and generate reports, specifically by the Human Resources Department, making them more proactive in optimizing the workforce, especially in monitoring the retention and attrition rate of more than 300 employees from different branches of Raquel Pawnshop. The system is divided based on each user's tasks. The system user interface has Employees, Department Head/managers, and the HR Admin. The developer collected the needed information for the system through discussion with the Raquel Pawnshops' Information Technology department head. The design and flow of the system are based on the UML diagrams created. After such discussions, the developer decided to use the agile software development methodology. It has been followed throughout the process of developing the system with the use of ASP .net, CSS, JavaScript, Visual Basic, and MS SQL, this methodology provides less risk and assurance to the client that the development of the system was based on the requirements provided. After the system was developed the proponent conducted a discussion and actual presentation of the system at the company head office. It was participated by twenty (20) respondents and the overall evaluation result includes functionality, efficiency, compatibility, usability,reliability, security, maintainability, and portability 16.96 over 20 proved the acceptability of the system. In conclusion, the proponent has been able to design and developed a system for a pawnshop human resource department which is an information system that has descriptive data analytics.
