ALGEBRAIC EXPRESSION MISCUES AND LEARNING MOTIVATIONS: A GROUNDWORK FOR MATHEMATICS ENRICHMENT HUB¬

Completed2022

Abstract

This study assessed the algebraic expression miscues and learning motivations in the new normal education in a private educational institution. Specifically, it sought to determine the perceived learning motivation level of the students towards mathematics and the acceptability of the Mathematics Enrichment Hub in supplementing the learning of Grade 8 students in the Algebraic Expression course. This study developed a framework for Mathematics Enrichment Hub for the study locale that would continuously enhance the learning motivation and ICT skills of teachers to optimize the students' learning as the output. To gather data for this study, a self-made survey questionnaire for the descriptive method of research was utilized. Results revealed that the current level of learning motivations of the students are very effective in terms of awareness, significance, confidence, and contentment. The result of the acceptability of the Mathematics Enrichment in supplementing Grade 8 students in Algebraic Expression is also effective in terms of evaluation of content, presentation and organization of content, technical support and update process, and evaluation of learning. Maryhill College Lucena has been chosen because it has three different modalities, including Online Distance Learning (ODL) and Modular Distance Learning (MDL), which have two options: still using an online platform and the other is using a flash drive containing their learning materials. The cluster sampling method was used for selecting the 88 grade 8 learners for the evaluation and validation. The evaluation test was utilized through an online procedure for gathering and collecting data.
