Completed2022

Abstract

The project aimed to facilitate and process through an android-based mobile application jewelry transactions of a client such as pre-appraisal of a jewelry item, renewing or redeeming a pawned jewelry item without physically visiting a pawnshop business center. A client could conveniently make a transaction in the comfort of his home or anywhere. Furthermore, a web-based data analytics report can be generated that is important for a comprehensive understanding of clients' behavior; monitoring and analyzing pawning transactions to ensure the profitability of the business. The researcher gathered the information needed in the development of the system through meetings with the Managers of Operations and Marketing of the Pawnshop. The design and the process flow of the system are based on the UML diagrams and use the Agile software method in the development of the system. The mobile app and data analytics report were developed successfully using Android Studio, Java, and C# and has been tested, validated, and evaluated by 43 users: 33 Pawnshop personnel; and ten (10) Pawnshop clients, and got an overall result of 4.70 which passed the quality standards of the ISO 25010. It is concluded that the researcher completed the development of an androidbased pawnshop mobile app for pawnshop clients and the web-based data analytics for pawnshop personnel. Thus, it would allow any client to initiate the preferred transaction, while beneficial for the pawnshop as it may mean steady or even increased revenue; for the concerned departments, faster, reliable, and credible data collection and management.
