ROLE OF SCHOOL LEADERS IN QUEZON PROVINCE TOWARDS EDUCATION 4.0

Abstract

The study focused on role of public senior high school leaders towards Education 4.0 in Quezon Province. Mixed method research design was employed through survey and interview among public senior high school leaders in the Division of Quezon. Data gathering was done online because of the pandemic. Simple percentage method and weighted arithmetic mean were utilized as statistical treatments. Results showed that Education 4.0 brought very significant changes among school leaders in small senior high schools in terms of instructional leadership, resource management, and teacher development management. School leaders in large senior high schools manifested variety of instructional leadership relative to Education 4.0. However, they were not fully aware of changes brought about by Education 4.0 in terms of resource management. Many of them were cognizant that Education 4.0 brought some changes in terms of teacher development management. School leaders in small senior high schools fully practiced Education 4.0 in terms of curriculum implementation and student development and also had practices on educational technology. Meanwhile, they have limited practices relative to Education 4.0 in terms of curriculum implementation. They are encouraged to develop a more personalized way of learning to address their changing roles and align teaching and processes with technological advancements to address their changing role. School leaders in small and large senior high schools concurred that poor internet connectivity was the primary challenge and issue relative to adapting Education 4.0.
