An Analysis on the Effectiveness of Online Booking Application for the Booking Management of Hotel Guests

Abstract

Booking using an online booking app will no longer be a problem since people nowadays had their technology and also have access to the internet everywhere. This study focused on the effectiveness of online booking application for the booking management of hotel guests. This study determined the demographic profile of the respondents which included age, gender, civil status, occupancy, income, and guesting and booking profile. In the part of the guesting and booking profile, this is where usage, type, and preferred online booking application comes in. This study also determined the perception of the hotel guests that became effective in online booking application in terms of usability, accuracy, and effectiveness. The study figured out the commonly encountered problems that were determined by the hotel guests. Since this study used the quantitative approach, the researchers used snowball sampling. To attain those answers, the researchers sent first the consent letter through Facebook Messenger and this served as permission and proof that any information that were given would stay confidential then followed by the survey, since we are in a pandemic, this survey was possible using Google form. Lastly, after data gathering, the researchers created an infographic poster containing the results of the paper that would benefit everyone since it would spread information about the online booking application. Results and findings revealed that online booking application is indeed effective and efficient for the convenience of the hotel guests. It also revealed that they rarely experience encountering problems while using the online booking application. Since it revealed that the online booking application is effective and trustworthy, it is highly recommended for everyone to use the online booking application rather than using Central reservation system and walk-in since it saves time and money.
