A PROPOSED QUEZON PROVINCIAL ANIMAL RESCUE AND REHABILITATION COMPLE
Area of Research
Abstract
Successful architecture involves spaces that encourages growth and
learning. These spaces give the opportunity to not only develop oneself and
relationships but also to rehabilitate fractured and troubled ones. Architecture
is not exclusive to human needs but also addresses its environment and
encompasses the welfare of its other constituents. It must go beyond
anthropocentric ideals to achieve its core purpose .This study focused on the
design and development of an animal rescue and rehabilitation facility that will
not only serve as a humane and inclusive home for the rescued animals but
also serve as community resource center, characterized by the advancements
and trends in modern animal shelters. The Quezon Provincial Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Complex
or QPARRC is a shelter for abused and neglected animals that is committed
to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of companion animals. This
proposal aimed to catalyze the emergence of animal welfare facilities in the country.Human and environmental aspects are also taken into consideration in
the design of the project. Hence, creating efficient facilities that adapt to its
local context and public-oriented spaces will be a link between the abandoned
animals and the facility's guest.
