A PROPOSED HERBAL MEDICINE LABORATORY AND RESEARCH CENTER

Abstract
The growing popularity of herbal medicine products as an alternative way to health and
wellness throughout the world has given a new situation to the demand of medicinal plants in
both local and international markets (Medical Observer, Aug.1, 2014). The proposed Herbal Medicine Laboratory and Research Center will help to develop, research and discover indigenous medicinal plants that can be found in Quezon Province, in
support to the advocacy as Quezon being the center of Herbal Industry in the country. With the
use of advanced technology, it will help to adopt the ancient and enriched medicinal system in a
new way. The current trend of utilization of herbal plants through scientific researches and
modern technological aspects helped to boost the industrial growth of the province. The study
revolves in the design and development of the proposed Herbal Medicine Laboratory and
Research Center. The concept for the proposed herbal research center will be a mixture of
modern and biophilic design approach. By providing natural ventilation and natural light and the
structures. Also it use solar panels for renewable energy source and low maintenance cost. This
proposal also provide a plantation and training center for the farmers to have a knowledge on how to grow and develop herbal plants.
