Abstract

Forests are more than just a group of trees. They are the areas where water is stored including its production and where habitats of many life forms are located from endangered species to people are very dependent on forests for survival. The forests in the Philippines are home to some of the world's endangered species and supplies water and ecological services for millions of Filipinos. As we continually lose our forest, the study focuses on the design of the Lucban Quezon Botanical Conservation Center. The intent of creating this structure is to provide the people who are concerned with the protection and preservation of the natural environment (i.e. Environmentalists, Environmental students, volunteers etc.) a place where they can conduct studies and research. Alongside with tree planting activities and tree nursery of local species of trees. The center shall also produce and encourage a society to a more sustainable way of life that is crucial to preserving all life. This will be a factor into creating a sustainable or readily maintainable forest that will carry on its growth and production of its wood products and provide shelter and recreation for future generation to come
